Three-time European champions Manchester United are in a very good position to qualify for next season’s Champions League campaign ahead of their home clash with Watford in the Premier League. As things stand, they have a one-point lead over rivals Arsenal and they can extend that advantage to four points by beating Watford at home when the two teams meet at the Theatre of Dreams on Saturday.
Manchester United are in the fight to qualify for next season’s Champions League with a lot of teams. Apart from Arsenal and Manchester United, the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United are also in the running.
The Red Devils are in fourth spot on the current Premier League table with 46 points and four points off Chelsea in third having played one more game than the Blues. Arsenal are in fifth spot with 45 points having played two games less than Manchester United. West Ham United are three points off Arsenal in sixth spot, but they have played two games more than their London rivals. On their part, Wolverhampton Wanderers have played one less game than Arsenal, but they are in seventh spot and five points adrift of the Gunners. North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur have six points worse than Arsenal having played the same number of games and they are in eighth spot.
Manchester United have won their last two league games ahead of the Watford game and a win over the Hornets will take that run to three games in addition to moving them four points above Arsenal on the log. The winning run began with the 2-0 victory at home to 10-man Brighton & Hove Albion and it was extended to two games with the 4-2 away win over fierce rivals Leeds United last weekend.
